::Unless you are desperate, avoid renting a car from IOMRAC at Ronaldsway Airport. IOMRAC rented me a car with a defective tire. From the time I departed the airport, the "check tyre" light went on and off. I tried to return it twice but they were closed. I tried to call them when the tire finally went flat but there was no answer in the middle of the afternoon! When I rented the vehicle the IOMRAC representative told me if I had any problems I should call the number on the rental form. I did -- no answer. The next morning, after I arranged for roadside service independent of IOMRAC, the service technician told me there was no puncture, no nail, no screw, no other object that punctured the tire. He determined it was defective. They did not provide a spare in the trunk (boot). They only provided a compressor pump and sealant -- both of which I used. What else could I do? When I finally was able to return the car to IOMRAC, they were not open (mid morning), but I found a representative of IOMRAC at the airport. That person very reluctantly allowed me to return the car. Also, IOMRAC provided me with 1/2 gallon of petrol when I received it at the airport. When I returned the car, the tank was full. When I eventually received my credit card bill and (5 months later) a statement IOMRAC provided not to me but to my credit card company, I learned they charged me for the tire and the so-called "repair kit." These items were very expensive. They failed to reimburse me for the full tank of petrol. I have written to IOMRAC but they have ignored me -- much the way they ignored me when I was stranded with a defective tire. I would highly recommend AVOIDING the Isle of Man Rent-A-Car company. They might be fine if nothing goes wrong. The true nature of a company shines through when things go badly, as was my case. Instead of treating me fairly, they treated me poorly. They simply have not dealt with this in good faith. If you rent from IOMRAC, just hope nothing goes wrong, that you are a mechanic, or that you break down near a filling station that is open.
