::We've recently returned from a lovely short stay at Kionslieu Farm Cottages during Hop-tu-Naa (the traditional Manx Halloween festival.) This was our second trip to the Isle of Man but our first with the family in tow (8 year old and twin toddlers). It's a lovely destination with plenty to do for families - we enjoyed exploring the island by car, visiting the beaches, geocaching in the forests and taking the little ones on the steam railway to Port Erin. We only scratched the surface during a short break and we're keen to return again to explore some more of the area. We stayed in Haybarn Cottage and it was ideal for our family of five. If anything, with the bedrooms being so spacious, we could have probably fit into a smaller one. The cottage was extremely comfortable and well equipped with all the amenities a family would need on a stay away. There's also a laundry room across the courtyard which doubles as a games and interests room. There are plenty of animals for the children to visit, and a nice little children's play area close to the cottages. Fiona and Tony are perfect hosts and extend a warm welcome to their farm from the moment you arrive until the time comes to say farewell (for now). Small touches like a pint of milk left in the fridge, and a plate of delicious flapjack so that you could enjoy a good brew after the journey across. This is a working farm and stables and Fiona and Tony really enjoy stopping for a chat about the area and the animals. They were also more than happy to encourage the children to meet the animals and to help with feeding/ grooming. We wish we'd done more of this during our stay but we picked up a couple of winter bugs around the time of our stay so we didn't want to upset the animals! All too soon our stay was over. We spent three nights here but we should have stayed five nights or a week (or longer) to really do justice to the farm and the area. But we'd love to come back another time and would recommend this place 100%. The owners mentioned that they are sometimes able to arrange ferry travel at a discount, so this may be worth bearing in mind for any visitors looking at this.

::Excellent place to stay and visit the Isle of Man for your holiday. Fantastic facilities are available in all the cottages and very welcoming family on hand to help you have a great stay.

::Fiona (the owner and manager) and her farm literally saved our day during the cold days in the middle of November when we found ourselves in a difficult situation. We (a family of 5) were not able to stay in our house in the Isle of Man as there was an issue with a boiler and a leaked kerosene. During the critical 5 days we had an opportunity to stay in a very spacious, modern, warm, clean cottage in a beautiful countryside, our children were excited about goats, horses, dogs, we could cook, wash our clothes, have a rest. Great value for money, we recommend it particularly for family holidays / weekends or for "creative breaks" when you would need to 100% focus on something like finishing your thesis, progress in your novel, app, etc.

::Having stayed at Kionslieu farm on a number of occasions, I would highly recommend a visit. With its picturesque landscape; characterful farm yard (complete with goat walks!) it is easy to travel around the Island. Fiona and family always 100% welcoming and accommodating - already looking forward to my next visit!
