  Nice Place for a Beer While Waiting While waiting for the tram here you can have, at least, a nice beer for a decent price. It is good to know that the place opens at 12, most of the days.

  The food here is consistently excellent. Consistently- I use the pub a lot for friends socialising, business meetings, and dining with relatives. Not only is the quality of the food and cooking good, the presentation is good enough to make you smile, I do, time and again! But the crowning glory are the staff. The experienced staff are quietly and efficiently concentrating on the customer in front of them (no matter how busy the pub is) whilst constantly being aware of the next job, be it a customer to serve or a table to clear. The younger staff are eager and following their training guidelines, a delight to see. This pub is a shining example of how a business should be run. A credit to its licensee and the recruitment and training.

  Nice pub food and few guest ales. Good parking and handy for horse tram and electric tram. Outdoor seating. Always busy with diners which is testament to the food quality, they should serve food for longer hours, especially during summer months.

  Dropped in and food had stopped being served. When we asked the barman quickly told the kitchen 2 more here. They served home made chicken and mushroom pie for me and butchers burger for the good lady. There was a boatload of food brought out. Well cooked and more than enough to satisfy most. Friendly staff. A good pint and an excellent selection of wines. Well satisfied and all at reasonable prices. As we leave most tables appear to have "Reserved" on them. This speaks volumes.
